URGENT: BOLVIA RUNS OUT OF DOLLARS AND WITHOUT GAS, AN UNPRECEDENTED CRISIS
Worse crisis since 2006.
The private banks do not have the dollars to give the people. Last week, the government ordered the central bank to put in 40 million in the private banks, but that has not happened.
The monthly demand for dollars is more than the bank has. President Luis Acre is in Caracas, paying tribute to the dead previous leader of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.
It was selling gas but did not invest and simply ran out of gas. It has not means economically of making money except for its drug trade. That is flourishing.
The government of Bolivia has asked the cartels to contribute to supporting the state. That doesn’t work well. The drug trafficking money has to be laundered to USA dollars and the government of Bolivia does not have dollars.
Elections are not going to be held till 2025 and the government has failed. The candidates are likely to be Evo Moralis and Luis Acre.
Humberto tells us that in 2009, there was an influx of over one million two hundred thousand voters that always vote with the Narcos and they always vote. So nothing will change.
Their biggest export, which used to be gas, was exploited by the Government and exhausted and not only can they not export any, in 3-4 years they will have to start importing gas for its own internal consumption.
60% of the government's expenses are their debt and they have also spent the money of the pension fund of the Bolivian people. The time is coming soon, when the Bolivian people will not be able to receive retirement benefits.
Cries of corruption are on both sides of the political divide. Luis Acre sons are being accused profiting from gasoline and from Lithium. While other claim it is Evo Moralis that is profiting from Lithium. Meanwhile they all claim to be socialist and not capitalistic. Despite the greed and corruption.
Regardless, the Chinese control Bolivian Lithium. Bolivia has the largest deposits of lithium in Latin America.
Effects of Socialism in the Region
Cuba has its sugar production the lowest in 130 years.
Venezuela is without oil.
Bolivia is without its gas.
Are the any Prospects for Change?
Will the electorate be able to do anything when its opposition is either in jail or in exile or too weak?
An example of corruption is that the governor of Santa Cruz, is going to go to jail for bringing a bible to the palace in 2019 for Evo Moralis to read. That is being called a coup.
51 million dollars goes out of the country in questionable transactions, and nothing is said. Acre son’s questionable dealing and nothing is said.
Maybe as things gets worse, the electorate will finally wake up.
