How do they manipulate you through language and emotions?
The human mind is similar to a computer. Like these, we can be programmed and language is the way to do it.
by Maibort Petit
From the public discourse, it is possible to generate a set of emotions aimed at controlling the behavior of the human being. This is accomplished by fixing in the man beliefs that have the objective of social manipulation.
Carme J. Huertas, a philologist specialized in computational linguistics and a writer, explains it to us, who has studied the process of knowledge and behavior through language, which becomes an instrument to establish beliefs and emotions in man, thus achieving its entire manipulation.

In her conference,
"Linguistic Engineering: How, from public discourse, the mechanisms of language are used to fix beliefs, generate emotional responses and social manipulation",
the academic explains the mechanisms of linguistic engineering.
A sub- area of artificial intelligence that is made up of linguistics, computer science and psychology. An areas of knowledge that have been strategically separated in the educational system to avoid the training of professionals in the area.
Linguistic engineering teams have to be multidisciplinary
Huertas refers that in linguistic engineering, mathematics and language converge. Making up an essential mix of this science, which is nothing more than the language process through technology and information technology.
The perverse separation of these in formal education has meant that linguistic engineering teams have to be multidisciplinary, because linguists, computer scientists and psychologists are required, the latter necessary because the purpose of this specialization is to get closer to natural language.
The specialist indicates that from the public discourse the mechanisms of language are used to fix beliefs, this to generate emotional responses and, therefore, the manipulation of society.
Linguistic engineering, she explains, serves both to create very useful applications such as proofreaders, internet dictionaries, translators, voice recognition and the wording prediction present in mobile phone applications.
The goal is to ideologize the society and censor it. This is possible, through the use of algorithms and software.
"The telephone is stupid, what is intelligent is the artificial intelligence that is generating a natural language or that tries to get closer to natural language, through knowledge of language”.
“We are in a unique moment in history in which we are being manipulated through language. Someone knows that this is so important that they divide it into compulsory education so that we do not have specialists who dominate both fields. This language is so important, it is the essential basis for artificial intelligence. We are facing a world that we do not know how far it will go (...) Everything can be manipulated from linguistics. We are facing a world where all the parameters we know are going to change”.
Neurological levels and language
Carme Huertas divides her presentation into four blocks, namely:
neurological levels and language; linguistic engineering; How they have achieved the level of obedience; and deprogramming.
In this first installment, we will refer to the neurological and language levels, which is essential to understand, since it allows us to understand society through language and how they induce beliefs in the population.
She warns that, contrary to what is thought, man does not analyze words with reason, but processes them with emotions.
“We think that we are intelligent mammals, it is not true, we are emotional animals and whoever knows how to move emotions is the one who has control of power. So, we are not intelligent animals. I'm sorry, our responses are visceral and are taken by the limbic brain, long before the information reaches the human or logical brain."
To explain the process, she refers to what was exposed by the psychologist Robert Dilts, who through a scheme that resembles an iceberg or a pyramid, reveals how the system works.
One part is conscious and the other unconscious. Located in the first, the actions of the individual are the facts, the reactions of the man, which are controlled from the unconscious, that is to say, the attitudes, the beliefs, the values, the identity and transpersonal identity.
Alert that for the unconscious all beliefs are true, since you cannot believe what is not, for this reason we have reactions before facts that are fiction, like the movies, hence the sweat, fear, the acceleration of the heart that some movies provoke us.
Huertas reveals that currently, education is based on beliefs, not on knowledge.
Hypotheses are taught at school, ideas that are sold as truths.
“When they are not even that, they are ideologies that if we believe we are lost, because for our unconscious all beliefs are true. The relational processes that our brain does from there will go to look for its referents in beliefs”.
The academic warns that this is essential to understand, because in this way society is kept ignorant of reality.
"Hence, those who are most reluctant to accept the truth of the entire situation we are experiencing are precisely people with a university education, because they have all the teaching introduced intravenously at the level of beliefs. So, even if they want to convince them, they will not be able to ”.
See refers that, regarding transpersonal identity, politics uses belonging groups that seek to divide society.
Carme J. Huertas adapts Dilts' scheme to reflect how she adds the grammatical categories that are equivalent to the neurological categories explained by the first.
Be aware that grammar is not invented by linguists or grammarians, but rather is the brain's way of processing information.
"Linguistic engineering seeks to identify natural language in order to enter the mind, introduce messages that are not identified at a conscious level, but in the unconscious, yes."
That is, it seeks to enter through the experiences, values, beliefs and attitudes of belonging groups.
She exemplifies with an intimate conversation in which the "I" and the "You" are used, while with those who seek to keep their distance, we use the "You".
The three levels of the brain
Carme Huertas refers that language is processed at the mental, cerebral level, but warns that the brain does not work as a unitary perfect machine, but that there are three clearly differentiated neurological levels.
These levels, namely, are that of the,
1. Reptilian brain, which has to do with instinct and survival.
2. Limbic brain, in charge of emotions and non-conscious perception.
3. The neocortex, known as the human brain, in charge of reasoning and reflection.
The reptilian brain
The reptilian brain is the most primitive. It is the internal one, the one that is in charge of vital functions and instincts, which works automatically. Man does not have to worry about his breathing or heartbeat, as the reptilian brain takes care of it.
The reptilian brain develops in the intrauterine stage, during pregnancy, conception and childbirth.

The limbic brain
Then, the limbic brain that works with emotions and that uses a programming language, of orders, of instructions that is executed with self-executable files, that is, that it is always activated on command. It is the brain of emotions and impulses that works with an unconscious language. It is fast and automatic, it gives relational and emotional responses, it understands orders and it starts physiological functions. It is the one that makes us sweat, that makes us nervous, it is the one that organizes the responses of the endocrine system and the entire nervous system.
The stage of life in which this brain and this language develop is childhood and adolescence.

The neocortex or human brain
Then we have the neocortex or human brain, the cerebral cortex, which uses a compilation language, equivalent to the compiled languages used by the computer, where when Unicode is activated, this icon gives instructions and executes complex programs. Here, the language is more elaborate, they are not simple instructions as in the limbic.
This brain develops in adulthood and is the only one that is conscious.
"It is slower, it needs to be processed and interpreted, and it requires software called language."
This program can understand instructions through language and processes all relational processes, comprehension, lexicon, experiences, where they all work at the same time, just like computers.
Huertas sentences again: Computer language, computational linguistics, linguistic engineering, try to imitate human language and not the other way around.
In this sense, he refers that computing has always tried to imitate the functioning of human language in order to control, through this software, attitudes, emotions, even visceral responses by groups of belonging.
“Computer language is copying natural language and not the other way around. So it's no coincidence that it looks similar, because it's exactly what they want, to take care of our mind through language. That's why they don't want anyone to know how it works, that's why there are no specialists on the subject”.
Carme Huertas refers to the similarities between human language and computer language and explains that we function in a similar way to computers and can perform several activities simultaneously, that is, we run several software programs at the same time.
What is serious, Huertas emphasizes, is that we are users of a brain whose functioning we generally do not know, so that man is at the mercy of those who do know it, of the programmers.
It refers that DNA has a linguistic structure that reacts to language and due to its similarity to a computer, it is susceptible to being programmed by others, that is, it can be a victim of manipulation through the language with which it is programmed. This is achieved by managing emotions and beliefs.
“That is why I tell you that you cannot convince people who are believing what is explained to them on television, because at the level of beliefs, decidability is marked by the emotional program, therefore, they cannot change their opinion, even if they want”.
Finally, Huertas points out that this is why "someone who has devoted his whole life to computer language with Microsoft programs is now interested in control language through language.
In this sense, she mentions the Big-Data program of Microsoft Project Hanover, which is currently working,
"to not only dominate the population through language, as I am going to show, but to generate big data, enormous, of all the data, and to be able to process it”.
